(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
I often use EMDR for those with a history of trauma. EMDR can be a good approach for certain situations where there are repetitive thoughts, images and/or anxiety triggers/phobias. EMDR works quickly to reprogram old messages and beliefs creating feelings such as anxiety, guilt, shame and depression that are outdated and based on the past instead of the present. It can be used to help build inner resources and effectively relieve somatic symptoms as well.
